The First International Student Competition in Colorectal Surgery - RSCS 2026

About the Contest

The Team Video Introduction Contest is a mandatory creative stage of the Competition, in which each team presents itself, demonstrates team spirit, professional qualities, and its vision of the future development of colorectal surgery.

Date

The submitted videos will be shown and evaluated on
September 4, 2026, during the Quarterfinal stage of the Competition.

Contest Theme:
«Looking into 2046».

Participants are invited to prepare a short video in Russian or English, depending on the track. In the video introduction, the team should show how it sees the medicine of the future, the role of young specialists, the team’s own place in this future, and the development of colorectal surgery over the coming decades.

Purpose

The contest aims to assess the team’s ability to present itself in a professional and creative format, demonstrate teamwork, interest in colorectal surgery, respect for medical ethics, and its own vision of the future of the specialty.

The video introduction is
recommended to include:

The team name and a brief introduction of the participants;
Participation of all three team members;
Teamwork and professional motivation;
Connection with the theme «Looking into 2046»;
The team’s interest in colorectal surgery and the development of the specialty.

Format and Technical Requirements:

Duration: no more than 2 minutes.
Video language: Russian or English.
File format: MP4, MOV, or AVI.
Participation format: team-based.
The video must be accessible to the jury members via a link without any additional access request, password, or registration.

Evaluation Criteria

Maximum score: 10 points.

Relevance to the theme «Looking into 2046»

up to 2.5 points

This criterion assesses how convincingly the team presents the future of medicine and colorectal surgery.

Teamwork

up to 2.5 points

This criterion assesses the involvement of the participants, coordination of actions, and the ability to present the team as a united whole.

Originality of the idea and creative approach

up to 2.5 points

This criterion assesses the uniqueness of the concept, creativity of the script, and overall impression of the video introduction.

Quality of execution

up to 2.5 points

This criterion assesses the quality of image and sound, editing, video structure, clarity of the message, and compliance with the time limit.

Scoring

The results of the contest will be included in the overall Olympiad ranking:

1st place — 1 point;
2nd place — 0.7 points;
3rd place — 0.5 points.

Ethical and Legal Requirements

The video introduction must comply with the standards of medical ethics and professional communication.

The use of materials that violate copyright, commercial advertising, inappropriate or discriminatory statements, as well as scenes that contradict the professional ethics of a physician, is not allowed.
